5 Things to Consider When Painting Your Office

Like any form of maintenance or refurbishment work painting your office can be a stressful time. We thought we would outline 5 tips that’ll help you make the project as easy as possible

1 - Give yourself time

Give yourself plenty of time of plan the project and know exactly what you want before you invite any painters in to price the project

2 - Select Colours

In an office environment a colour like white can be very effective provided you pick out certain walls as feature walls. Feature colours in a workplace can include colours from your company’s logo. We suggest painting the feature walls and skirtings the same colour

3 - Select three Painters

Find three painting contractors who are experienced in painting offices. Remember not all painters paint offices as some painters only focus on houses or building sites. Vet the contractor you are selecting in advance. Once you have decided on the three painting contractors show each of them the same project based on the same specification. This approach will ensure you receive three like for like quotations, which will enable you to establish which contractor is offering the best value for money

4 - Plan the programme

Once you have selected your preferred contractor, meet with them on site and establish which order and how they plan to paint the office. If some aspects of their plan do not fit your plan, mention this to them and amend things so as everybody is happy

5 - Check the Work Regularly

It’s best practice to regularly check the work and tradesperson is doing for you regularly. If your office comprises of five separate rooms or areas check the first area they have painted. At this stage highlight what you are happy or unhappy about rather than letting them carry on and paint all five rooms before you realise the work isn’t to standard or some other problem.
