What's the Best Type of Ceiling Paint?
A well painted surface always looks great. Choosing the correct paint is key to getting a good finish as some paints cover better than others.
Here our tips on choosing the best ceiling paint
A Matt Finish is Enough
Ceilings don’t get the same ware and tear as walls or woodwork so as result a matt paint is enough. There is no need to buy washable paint or a premium branded paint to paint a ceiling.
The Paint You Choose Needs to Have Good Body
The products we like using the most on ceilings are those that have good body so they cover well and have a matt or a flat finish. We don’t think a ceiling with a sheen is a good look.
The Best Type of Ceiling Paint
The three products we like the most include
Dulux Supermatt - this paint has great coverage
MacPherson’s Eclipse - this paint has great body and stays white for a long time
Crown Covermatt - this paint las excellent coverage. We use this product if it is being tinted into a colour but not if the ceiling is being painted white. Dulux Supermatt & MacPherson’s Eclipse come in “Brilliant White” whereas Covermatt comes in White. There is a big different between “brilliant white” and “white”. Our painters favour brilliant white
We hope out professional painting tips help you select the paint that’s best for your project.
