Garristown Library | Commercial Painting Contractors

Garristown Library is one of the hailed Carnegie Libraries. Globally there are 2509 Carneige Libraries. We were lucky to work on two of these recently with Garristown being one and Balbriggan Library being another.

The Carnegie Libraries were built by the Scottish-American businessman Andrew Carnegie and were constructed between 1883 and 1929. Garristown Library first opened its doors in 1912 and we have the pleasure of painting the exterior of this historic building in the summer of 2021.

The works consisted of

  • Treating the cast iron gutters and downpipes for rust and reapainting them

  • Repairing the sash windows and repainting in a white gloss finish

  • Painting the outside and inside facades of the entrance door and adjoining porch

  • Painting the steps to highlight their location to make the library more accessible to those who visit the library with visual impairments

  • Treating and staying the wooden bench

  • Painting the railings and gates to the front of the church
